Her unique approach combines creative strategy with a commercial mindset; while maintaining great relationships with every client. Kate is bold, fearless, and a visionary; possessing an unflinching vision for what’s next.
Kate comes from two generations of entertainment executives. Her grandfather Elliott Hyman purchased Warner Brothers from Jack Warner. Her father Kenneth ran the studio. The Entertainment industry is in her blood. Kate currently has a successful joint venture with BMG Rights and has extensive experience as an A&R executive at Warner Bros, V2, Imago, Chrysalis, MCA, ZE/Island Records and Shelter Records. She is is also the founder of "Little Monster”, a Children's Music Label.
She has been instrumental in creating soundtracks for films like "I Am Sam" and consulting the Martin Scorsese series "Vinyl." She has overseen European labels such a Stiff Records and Ensign Records and has an incredible network around the World. Most recently, she brought together dozens of artists with producer Hal Willer for the groundbreaking Marc Bolan tribute, Angel Headed Hipster.
Kate has done several music book deals, all garnering sales and praise: "Dreaming of Dylan" by Mary Lee Kortes, "Knock Knock Knock on Wood” by Eddie Floyd and Tony Fletcher, a series of books on the stories of independent labels (under the banner RPM) and "Say It One More Time For the Broken-Hearted” (Country Soul and the American South) by Barney Hoskyns.
Kate also brought the Joan Jett documentary to BMG, along with several catalogs that were purchased by BMG.
